KIDS KEEP YOU YOUNG

Sleeping beauties... I kept Blake Saturday night. We didn't do anything special but wrestle, tell stories and watch a movie. He went to church with me on Sunday morning. I was in a skit and had to go up on stage. I told Blake he had to sit quietly while I was on stage. He asked if he could go on stage with me. I told him no. He promised he'd sit quietly. Well, when I walked on stage, he said out loud "Hi Nana." Then during the skit, the other character was picking out my character flaws. Blake reacted with "Quit picking on my Nana." And I had to pretend I didn't hear any of this and just carry on with the skit. But inside I was laughing so hard!!! Ya gotta love him. He is so cute :).
Can't beat mac and cheese for lunch!

Here we are watching Little Bear and Barney. Neither of which my boys watched when they were little. It was a real eye opener!

I got to babysit our music minister's daughter on Saturday morning. Maddie (Madelin) is 2 years old, but you'd never know it by her demeanor. She is so smart! She can hold a real conversation. I had a lot of fun. Hope she did too!

JANUARY

It was a beautiful, clear night. I went out to take a picture of the moon with my new digital camera. I do not have a tripod and the shutter speed was so slow that when I pushed on the button, it moved the camera and created this affect. Guess this is a moon for lovers! Again, what was I thinking!!

Lani and Holly came over New Year's Day to celebrate a belated Christmas. It was great seeing them again. Holly has become such a beautiful young lady. She is doing GREAT at Liberty U. You go girl!
Before and After. Daniel has joined the Navy.
He leaves in May. He had to cut his curly locks
in order to be able to wear the Navy
hat the recruiter gave him.
My New Year's Eve party was making party hats, popping popcorn and watching movies with Blake. Neither of us was aware when 2008 rolled in. His first words to me the next morning were, "Nana, I missed the end of the movie." I replied "So did I sweetheart, so did I."

DECEMBER

I traveled to Fremont to have Christmas with my family the following Saturday.

Blake did a great job during his Christmas program at pre-school.
His first words after walking on stage and
taking a look at the audience were "Hi Daddy!"

Sometimes all you can do is sit on them to get them to behave!!

Alyssa is trying her hand at picture taking.
Hmmm, I think she has a ways to go.

The kids came to my house on Christmas Eve.

I just couldn't resist! More than once people have commented that Brutus looks like a small deer so I thought I'd make it official! Brutus is about 30" at the whithers and 39" to the top of his head. We're eyeball to eyeball when he stands on his hind legs. He was a pretty good sport about getting this picture taken.

I love being able to decorate the outside as well as the inside of my home for Christmas. It makes you feel welcomed when you come home to all the colored lights. I put the lights on a timer to make sure they would be one when I came home each night.

Leaving with birthday cake. I had so much left over! What was I thinking???

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DANIEL!

The big 25. We had a gathering at my house.
It was nice to get everyone together again.

NOVEMBER

I get to keep Blake over night occasionally. We always have fun. Brutus helps me keep an eye on him.
Hailey and Alyssa thought it important to work off a few of those calories consumed at Thanksgiving. And a little child shall lead them....

I did not have to look far to see God's handiwork this fall. Right in my own back yard.... some of the most beautiful colors I've ever seen.

Attended my FIRST O.S.U. game at the Shoe this fall. How AWESOME was that!!! It was the first game of the season and we won. Unfortunately, my second game was the ill-fated (no pun intended) ILLinois game. Didn't matter. Just being there was great. I was ready to go again. If only I could afford season tickets :).

OCTOBER

Halloween was a blast! Being in HR, I figured most of my employees saw me like this anyway. I doubt many of them even noticed any difference that day (LOL). I really enjoyed handing candy out to kids at my home this year too.

Vacation to that state up north. Went to Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum with my sister and nephew. Had a great time!

And So It Begins

I have long thought about starting a blog. Several of my friends and family already have them. I had thought my life too dull to have anything to share. But it is sharing the ordinary and everyday things of life that help to keep us in touch though miles apart. So with that in mind, I begin my blog journey. Don't expect anything spectacular, but if it brings a smile to you, it will have served its purpose.

Welcome to Buckeye Duo. Blog site of one avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and her faithful companion, Brutus.
