Birthday Girls

A Hanna Montana birthday cake was awesome.

Hailey is now 5 and Alyssa will soon be 3.

Hailey loves the microphone so a kareoke machine is great!

They are looking into the movie camera saying
"Thank you, Daddy for the doll house."

Chocolate covered marshmellows were a big hit.
They were willing to share.

Blake was more than willing to help open the gifts. Sissy has a Cootie game.

Hailey wanted a veggie tray to go along with the ice cream, cake and chocolate. Who knew she would be so health conscious?

The girls made a "diner" out of a cardboard box.

Birthday Celebration

I took Munchkin with me. He traveled very well. Everyone seemed to like him. He took turns jumping from lap to lap.
View of the frighter lanes.

Mother's birthday was November 10. We met on Sunday and took her out for lunch.

This is the view out of Mom's new apartment. Most of the pleasure boats are gone now. But she can still watch the freighters coming and going.

Mom's new apartment has a separate bedroom. It is bigger and nicer than the old one. This looks into the kitchen.

New Puppy?

NO! It's just Munchkin with a radical new do. His last grooming before winter sets in.

His underbite is really more noticable now. Kind of endearing, don't you think?

and

AFTER. You can see his eyes again.

Thanks Keith for my New Floor

I mentioned to Keith that I wanted to get rid of the white carpet in my living room. Of course, he knew someone who could get a good deal on wood flooring. We tore up the carpet on Thursday night. Keith and a friend of his installed the wood flooring on Friday in one day and trimmed it out the next. I love it! It's beautiful. Thanks Keith and Norm.

Brutus is not happy with me. He slips and slides too much on the new floor. He can't tear through the house any more. Poor baby. I think it's kind of funny. He's getting used to it.

The blanket on the chair is one that Daniel's friend made for me. Go Navy!

Munchkin loves the floor. He loves to run down the end of the hall and slide to a stop.

Munchkin's First Hair Cut

BEFORE. I had already trimmed a little hair off his face. He couldn't see where he was going! He looks like a little old man with a beard. ;)

He really didn't like the clippers much. At only five pounds, it still took two of us; one to hold him and one to work. I was covered in more hair than he was when we were finished!

AFTER. You can actually see his eyes now! There wasn't much dog under all that hair.

My vacation for the year was going to see Daniel graduate from Naval Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. I am so proud of him!

Not to be outdone by his big brother, Daniel was also a leader in his division.

A rare photo of all three together. Who knows when this will happen again??

Daniel was able to spend some time with us off base.

We ate a lot. Found a great little restaurant near our motel. Right next door to the motel was a restaurant that had pool tables. Guess where we spent most of our time! Dan was suffering from withdrawal from not being able to play pool. He even let me play a few games. Of course, he won every time.

My new companion, Munchkin, was born March 21 (Good Friday). He now weighs 5 lb 7 oz.

Brutus and Munchkin get along really well. Brutus was a little skittish at first, but now they are buddies.

The four of us played a game of tag. (Don't ask.) But it was fun and we ALL got tired.

Anchors Away!

Daniel left for basic training Monday, May 5. He called me just after midnight that night to say he got to Great Lakes okay. He will be in basic for 8 weeks and his A school in Florida for another 8 weeks before he will be home again.

Goodbye party at a Friend's house.

Swearing in.

Final paper work.. yeah right.

Off to the airport!

Operation Feed

I took a pie in the face to raise money for Operation Feed (local food pantry network). Actually, it was 3 pies. For $5 any employee could throw a pie in my face. At least they used whipped cream and not shaving cream! When it was over and I dabbed the cream off my face, another employee remarked that she couldn't believe my makeup still looked good. Ya gotta love that Mary Kay :).

Soccer Game

God, please help me get it in the net this time.

So this is what it's like to be be pregnant?

Okay, ball, this time you're goin in!

I was privileged to attend Blake's soccer game. It wasn't really a game, more like one on one practice. But it was a lot of fun. The kids were all adorable! Blake is very good a dribbling the ball. He had this cute little routine he would do before he kicked the ball. He would run his hands together, say BINGO and point to the goal. He didn't quite get the concept that the didn't have to share the ball with the other boy. Oh well. I had some video but I had trouble getting it loaded. Pics will have to do for now.
